Waiting...

You know, I love it when I get out of town and do something that normal people do... not just families in ministry. For me, I took Abe to his make-up swim lessons in the FANCY town of Decatur! I sat and got to visit with strangers. Two people sat next to me. One was a mom that was my age and she nervously talked on her cel phone on and off, if it weren't for Jonah bumping into her we would have never talked. But we did and it was good to share common "motherings". Plus we both admired each others shoes (you women know what I mean about that!)
The other lady was an elderly woman waiting in her swimsuit for her swim aerobics. I talked to her the most... probably because she is a widow and does not get to talk to people very much. But i enjoyed it. She shared quite a bit about her life with me and I was blessed to have actually spent 30 minutes talking to her. She raised 6 kids! And they were like 18 months apart from each other. OH and she also worked nights to help with finances! I thought to myself during our conversation... What do have to complain about? My two boys are 3 years apart- a lot easier- I don't work the third shift- I wasn't raised by my aunts and uncles because my parents are divorced. I told you I got to know a lot about her! I found myself appreciating wisdom in life experiences. Maybe I am thirsty for that right now.
A lot can happen when your waiting.
