"Back Home Again in Indiana..."

These past few days have been renewing for me. If you ignore the fact that Abe got pink eye and I am fighting a bit of a sinus cold then you may be able to understand. Here are some reasons:

1. Angie. She is my sister and we have hung out a lot just like old times. We have laughed until we cried, taken turns watching after each other's kiddos, sat around the campfire eating S'mores, and basically had a great time. Oh and we went to Target.. our old stomping grounds when we lived here. We have been joking around with her BFF Amber- she is pretty funny, well, at least I laugh at her a lot! Niether one of them read my blog so they won't really see this!
2. Mom. Yeah, she's great. She helps a lot when I am here with the Boys, and they think she is just great-- well, she cannot tell them no, so they get spoiled here. She also has great God stories about her bible studies and what she is learning. It has helped knowing that she and her ladies pray for me!
3. Friday night- It was a great girls night out to honor my friend Trudy- a beautiful bride to be! Trudy is fun and so the night was fun... a "personal shower" to help her prepare for her honey moon. We got dressed up and went to dinner. There were some of my good friends from here and it was great to spend the evening with them.
4. Saturday. Okay so this day was different but it was good to celebrate my Dad's family. It was the Davis family reunion... The Davis Family is my Dad's mom's family. I did not grow up knowing them but it was interesting to meet them and hear about Grandma Jeanne's family. I am named after her- Jeanne Marie. I never met her, she was the oldest sibling in her family and I knew her mom- Granny Davis. Granny was a strong Christian and she was a prayer warrior... well she set a legacy because there were several people that had the faith. It was nice meet relatives that were a part of my Dad's family. True to form, Dad was the photographer and we took an enormous family picture.
5. My Friend Jen. I got to talk with her some on Friday, and we made plans to hang out on Thursday. She is an awesome Godly and compassionate woman. She is single but has a giant heart for motherhood... we have a lot in common. Well, she decided to be a foster parent and went through extensive training and screening and interviewing and PRAYING to get some precious kiddos to call her mama. And a few weeks ago, that is exactly what happened. She has a brother and sister and soon, she will get thier unborn baby brother (or sister). She is my hero. I am excited to meet her kids. Through her testimony, Hans and I have actually considered being foster parents when our kids are out of the "baby" phase.
6. The Clermont Deluxe Outdoor Theatre. We went to the drive in last night. We (Angie, Amber and I) had fun and laughed a lot waiting for the movie- Ratatoullie. Nostalgic to say the least. We did that a lot when we were growing up so it was fun to do it again. My theory was wrong, Jonah did not go to sleep before we got there, so we brought his car seat out and put it in between two lawn chairs and strapped him in! It looked redneck, but cute.

This has been the start of my week. I am thankful that God can bring people together and they can share a feeling of being at home. I think Heaven will feel like you heart is at home for the first time. Through relationships, we can gain a glimpse of what that may feel like.

In two days, my first baby will be 4! I cannot believe it. More fun times to come!
